Mohosin Kabir, born in 1986 in Netrakona, Bangladesh, is a versatile artist working in several art forms, such as cyanotype printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, and calligraphy. His artwork is based on research work concerning cultural identity and historical narratives.

Academic Background


Mohosin Kabir's educational journey began at the University of Dhaka, where he completed both Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA). While studying at the University, he has been the president of Dhaka University Photographic Society, which sharpened his photographic skills with a flair for visual storytelling.


Artistic Exploration

Thus, his artistic activity has gained recognition internationally through exhibitions in various countries, including Germany: Featured at Documenta Fifteen, UAE: Participated in Vantage Point 10th by Sharjah Art Foundation.


His work transcends borders, establishing him as a global artist with influence in the USA, France, Italy, Greece, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Nepal, and India. This was further confirmed by his participation in the Indian Art Fair of the years 2023 and 2024.

Kabir has received various prestigious awards in recognition of his dedication to the craft. Some of these include the Best Photography Award at the 22nd Young Artist Art Exhibition (2020) and the 1st National Photography Festival (2012).

At present, with the support of UNESCO and the Education Ministry of Bangladesh, Kabir is working on a book titled "Visual Ethnography." The book promises to be an insightful exploration of visual storytelling that will share Kabir's artistic process, research methodology as well as cultural investigation.
