Arpita Akhanda is a contemporary Indian artist who excels at using various creative forms to explore topics such as memory, migration, and the human condition. Born in 1992, she migrated with her family from Bangladesh during the 1947 split and settled in Cuttack, Odisha.   • Piramal Art Residency 2019–20, Maharashtra: Her project "Transitory Body: the Memory Collector" investigated the transient nature of memory and identity.

  • Arpita participated in the Teertha International Performance Platform 2019, Sri Lanka, with the topic "Between the Living and the Dead," adding to the international conversation on performance art.

  • JANUS Centre for Visual and Performing Arts, Kolkata: Her solo show "Moving with the Senses" explored sensory experiences and perception via art.
